50 year old music mogul and CEO and Founder of the Hip Hop dynasty Cash Money Records Bryan Williams aka Baby or Birdman is worth an estimated $170 million. According to Forbes, he grossed an estimated US $15 million from May 2010 to May 2011 with a net worth estimated at US $110 million in 2011. In 2012 Forbes estimated his net worth to be $125 million. Cash Money is home of rap’s biggest stars of the moment Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga and Ace Hood. The label is a labor of love started from the bottom by Birdman and his former partner Mannie Fresh. Baby began selling cds out of the trunk of his car. Birdman and Mannie Fresh formed the duo Big Tymers in the late 90’s. He signed artist in and around New Orleans int he 1990’s like Juvenile, B.G. and Lil Wayne at only 14 years old. Mannie handled the music production of most of the artist early on.

Cash Money’s big break came in 1998 when the Hot Boys, B.G. and Juvenile in particular, caught the attention of Universal Records executives. In 1998, Cash Money signed a $30 million pressing and distribution with $3 million advance contract with Universal, entitling the label to 85% of its royalties, 50% of its publishing revenues and ownership of all masters. B.G. and Juveline abandoned the label in 2001 due to financial issues over royalties. Birdman and his label continued an enormous amount of success into the 21st century selling over 7 million albums between 2001 and 2003. In April 2003, Juvenile returned to the label for a reported $4 million deal, and in return, he signed over the rights to Juve The Great, an album which would go on to sell over a million copies and contained the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Slow Motion”. Today the label is home to Bow Wow, Busta Rhymes, Mystikal, rock group Limp Bizkit, Christina Milian, Paris Hilton, Jae Millz and Jay Sean.
