Juicy J got his start in the Tennessee rap group Three 6 Mafia. The group originally featured DJ Paul Juicy J and Crunchy Black. The rap trio alter added Lord Infamous and Gangsta Boo. They sold over 5 million albums worldwide and amassed a large fan following. But in 2009 Juicy announced he was leaving the group and began focusing on a solo career. His net worth is $5 million from production and writing credit with Three 6 Mafia. From album sales Juicy only made $1 million. Despite the groups several platinum records the profits were split between each member and featured artist. The labels Sony Music and Columbia were paid $9 from every cd sold so the profits were even smaller.
With an Oscar win for best original song Juicy J now charges nearly $200,000 per song he produces. He has over 20 songs on the radio including Bounce It with Trey Songz, Bandz A Make Her Dance and Show Out with Young Jeezy. In 2012 he signed on under Wiz Khalifa Taylor Gang records. Wiz gets 2% of his album and single sells. The album Stay Trippy, Juicy’s third effort was due this summer but due to label problems it was shelved till further notice. But in a recent interview on the Breakfast Club Juicy said an official release will be this fall.
